Avatars for Comment Feeds

This plugin will add avatars of comment-authors to the comment-feeds of your WordPress-Blog. This is done by utilizing the native WordPress-function add_avatar().

Normally, WordPress (and consequently my plugin), will use Gravatars.

The plugin may add a snapshot from websnapr.com to the pingbacks and trackbacks you receive.

Demo

Take a look at my comments-feed in your feed-reader.

Requirements

All you need is a working installation of WordPress 2.6 or later.

Installation

Copy the directory and all files from the archive to the directory
/wp-content/plugins/. The paths of the files must be:

After that, go to your admin-dashboard and activate the plugin.

Configuration

You can set the size in pixel of the avatar-image (10 to 96 pixel are allowed).

You can specify the URL of a default-avatar-image. This setting is optional, you may leave it blank.

And finally, you can set, if small snapshots from websnapr.com should be added to trackbacks and pingbacks.

Since WordPress 2.5, configuration of the avatar-behavior can be made directly via the WordPress-options. This described in detail at weblogtoolscollection.com.

The Plugin supports these languages:

You can add your own language by using GNU gettext. The WordPress Codex describes how to do that in detail.

  1. Hi,
A week ago, I asked for your permission to translate your plugin. Since I didn’t get any answer from you, it would be very kind of you to consider my proposal and let me know if its alright to translate it.
